Washington, D.C. (November, 2, 2023) | Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 6126, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, which provides $14.3 billion in emergency supplemental funding to Israel: 

“Now is not the time to be silent or hesitant. Iran, and its financed terrorist organizations, have overtly proclaimed their desire to destroy Israel and the United States. Iranians chant “Death to America” as they proudly burn American flags on international television. Our alliance with Israel is more than just supporting an ally, it’s about preserving freedom, liberty and security for both of our nations." 

"Today, Republicans led the House in passing legislation that provides critical assistance to Israel to help defend themselves against the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists. While prioritizing support for Israel, this bill is paid for by reappropriating money Democrats' gave to the IRS to hire 87,000 new agents. Cutting the size of the IRS reduces the burden on middle and lower-income Americans facing new IRS audits. Republicans have shown that we can restore fiscal responsibility, cut reckless spending and reign in an overreaching federal bureaucracy while also supporting our close friend and ally Israel."
