Rep. Loudermilk Statement After House Passes Continuing Resolution to Temporarily Fund Government
Washington,
October 2, 2023
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House voted on a bill “Making continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2024,” H.R. 5860:
“It’s important to keep government up and running, but it’s also important to cut spending and secure our southern border, because both crises are threats to our national security. Last week, Republicans introduced a temporary funding bill, which I supported, that cut spending and helped secure the border, while we continue working on appropriations bills. Unfortunately, that bill failed. I voted against the continuing resolution which passed on Saturday because it failed to address these important issues.” |
