Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement to announce the 2020 Art Competition winners for Georgia’s 11th Congressional District. Vincent Zheng, who attends SKA Academy of Art and Design and Creekview High School, won First Place for his entry entitled, “Living With The Land."
“The Congressional Art Competition is always a great opportunity for students across Georgia’s 11th Congressional District to compete for their artwork to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol. All of the artwork entered and displayed this year at the Downtown Gallery was beautiful and unique. The students definitely left the judges a difficult decision to make. I want to thank the all of the schools who participated from across our district, and the many students who made this year’s competition truly remarkable." In the 2020 competition, a total of 22 entries were submitted from across Georgia’s 11th Congressional District. The winning artwork was determined by a panel of judges chosen by the Downtown Gallery. 2020 Congressional Art Competition Results: First Place Vincent Zheng Art Piece: “Living With The Land” School: SKA Academy of Art and Design and Creekview High School Teacher: Leng Kar Chang Second Place Bailey Hawkins Art Piece: “The Blinded And Closed Minded” School” Mount Paran Christian School Teacher: Kelly Karr Third Place Alexandra Feldman Art Piece: “Girl” School: Etowah High School Teacher: Shannah Dean Honorable Mentions: First Honorable Mention Parker James Metlick Art Piece: “The Iguana, Guardian of del Morro” School: Lyndon Academy Teacher: Aubree Metlick Second Honorable Mention Rachel Shannon Art Piece: “Impetuous Rose” School: Cornerstone Preparatory Academy Teacher: Jill Barrett |
