Washington, D.C. (June 5, 2026) | Rep. Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) has announced that eleven students from Georgia’s 11th Congressional District have received appointments to attend a U.S. military service academy. Each year, members of Congress are tasked with nominating students from their own district to attend our nation’s prestigious service academies.

Rep. Loudermilk Co-Sponsorsed the Following Legislation
|
H.R. 4606 – Ally’s Act (Rep. Neguse, D-CO)
– Would require private insurance to cover medically necessary osseointegrated devices, including Bone Anchored Hearing Aids and cochlear impacts, for patients from birth through age 64.
– These devices are often the only effective treatment option for people with certain types of hearing loss when traditional hearing aids do not work.
HR 8056 – Military Financial Literacy Act (Rep. McDonald Rivet, D-MI)
– Expands financial and housing counseling to servicemembers on active duty or transitioning from service.
– Currently financial/housing counseling occurs only when transitioning out, mostly in the final weeks. Servicemembers are inundated with information in those weeks and the counseling is ineffective.
H.R. 3921 – Strengthening Transparency and Obligations to Protect Children Suffering from Abuse and Mistreatment (STOP CSAM) Act of 2025 (Rep. Moore, R-AL)
– Amends federal law to allow for a federal civil cause of action allowing victims of child sexual exploitation or abuse to sue tech platforms and app stores that “intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly promote or aid and abet” the exploitation of minors. The same application also extends to online platforms where the material is stored.
– Requires additional, more stringent reporting to the CyberTipline that tracks CSAM. Requires additional reporting in the CyberTipline reports to include information about involved individuals, date/time stamp, geographic location, sexual/abuse activity categories, technical identifiers, etc.
H.Res. 475 (Rep. Miller, R-IL) – Supporting the designation of the month of June as Family Month
