  Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) has issued the following statement on the students from Georgia’s 11th Congressional District who were accepted into our prestigious military service academies:

“Every year, we are proud to send some of our most talented students to our nation’s prestigious military service academies, and this year is no different. Nominating students from Georgia’s 11th Congressional District is a responsibility my office takes very seriously because being accepted to one of our academies is a very high achievement. America is in good hands with these young leaders, and I am confident they will represent our state and district well.”

The United States is facing the biggest surge of migrants at its southwestern border in 20 years, the homeland security secretary said on Tuesday as the Biden administration races to handle an influx of children trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border alone.

The number of attempted border crossings by people from Central America and Mexico has steadily increased since April 2020 and most single adults and families are being turned away, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said.
