  This past week, Rep. Loudermilk had the pleasure of welcoming Boy Scout Troop 540 of Marietta to the U.S. Capitol. Being a former Boy Scout, Rep. Loudermilk understands just how important a role the Scouts can play in a youth’s life, teaching them many values and skills, such as confidence, leadership and respect for others.

  Press Release of the Week: Rep. Loudermilk Recognized for Support of Small & Local Insurance Companies  
  Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after receiving the Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) for support of mutual insurance policyholders during the 115th Congress:

“Dr. Benjamin Franklin understood how accessible and affordable insurance helps protect the property and assets of hardworking Americans, which is why he founded the nation’s first successful mutual insurance company. Franklin’s vision has paved the way for thousands of small and locally owned insurance companies to provide Americans with policies to protect their livelihood. I am proud to support a free and open market for consumers and insurance providers.”

  In the News: Dear CFPB – Members of Congress Send a Letter Regarding International Remittances  
  From Payments Journal: 

“Way back in 2013 through 2015, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) implemented new rules in the international consumer money transfer industry governing wires and remittances. These were early days for the CFPB and the new regulation really illustrated to the banking and payments industry the impact the new agency could bring to bear.”
