Rep. Loudermilk (R-GA) today issued the following statement after President Trump announced Mike Pompeo, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, to replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State:

“Today, we find ourselves at another pivotal moment for our nation. President Trump’s administration has made progress in dealing with denuclearizing North Korea and voiced plans to reform our country’s trade deals – none of which will be possible without a steady hand directing the State Department. That steady hand will be my former colleague, Mike Pompeo. Mike’s time as a member of Congress and as Director of the CIA undoubtedly makes him an excellent candidate to be the United States’ next world-wide ambassador.”
