The Cassville resident will head just down the road to the Cobb County GOP offices in Marietta for the chat, which will focus on criticism of President Joe Biden’s handling of withdrawing U.S. troops from the country and the Taliban takeover.

U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Cassville, has hammered President Joe Biden on Twitter over the Taliban’s shockingly swift capture of the Afghan capital, and the complete collapse of the government Uncle Sam propped up for two decades.

“Many American and Afghani lives are in grave danger today because of the incompetence of the Biden Administration,” Loudermilk tweeted. “Securing the safe extraction of Americans, and American assets, should have been planned as part of an organized withdrawal. But Biden and the DoD leadership appear to have failed on many fronts in this operation. The Biden Administration and the DoD must be held accountable for this massive failure of international diplomacy and national security.

A federal appeals court denied the Biden administration’s request to pause a lower court order requiring the revival of a controversial Trump-era border policy forcing migrants to stay in Mexico until their US immigration court date.

The policy, informally known as “remain in Mexico,” was put in place in 2019 and marked an unprecedented departure from previous protocols. An estimated 68,000 migrants were returned to Mexico under the policy — often to squalid and dangerous conditions.
