“Before coming to Congress, I worked intelligence in the United States Air Force, and I owned an IT business, so my appreciation and interest in computer technology dates back decades. The Congressional App Challenge is an excellent way to spark curiosity in computer science and encourage the next generation of computer programmers and coders to advance their education in this important field.”
Students can compete individually, or in groups of up to four, and are tasked with designing an application (app) of their choosing. The winning app will be featured in the U.S. Capitol Building and featured on the House of Representatives official website (House.gov), which has 10 million visitors per year.
