Rep. Barry Loudermilk Attends Celebration of Life for Civil Rights Icon, Rep. John Lewis

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement on today’s Celebration of Life service in Atlanta for the late civil rights icon, Rep. John Lewis, which he attended as an invited guest and part of the official Congressional delegation.

“Today, I had the honor of attending the funeral service of Rep. John Lewis. John had a profound impact on our nation as a leader in the civil rights movement. America’s Founders established a nation built upon a divine principle that God created all of us equally, and gave us rights which are to be protected. John was one of those who not only experienced discrimination, but rose up to strongly and peacefully stand for those God-given rights. While his body bore the scars of his stand for justice, he remained steadfast in his lifelong pursuit to make America a more perfect union.”
