Despite Passport Backlog, Rep. Loudermilk’s Office is Assisting Constituents with Passports

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to a story on Fox News that stated, “lawmakers can’t assist” constituents in obtaining a passport:

“For the past several months, the State Department has had significant issues processing passport requests in a timely manner. But the story that aired on Fox News last week stating, ‘lawmakers can’t assist’ constituents in obtaining a passport, is not completely accurate. In Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, our excellent constituent services team has processed over 600 passport cases since January, most of them successfully. If you are in Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, and need help with a passport, please call my office. We are open for business.”
