Congress Begins Rolling Back Disastrous Iran Deal

Rep. Loudermilk (R-GA) voted to ban Iran from purchasing U.S. aircraft. He issued the following statement:

“Until the new administration can take the reins and clean up the mess created by the dangerous Iran Deal, we in Congress have a responsibility to do everything we can to limit its damage. One of the outcomes of the deal was the lifting of financial sanctions. As the administration puts it, Iran is ‘the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism’ – so it just doesn’t make sense that they want to strengthen their efforts. To ensure that the U.S. doesn’t sell commercial passenger aircraft to Iran, we passed a bill that makes it unlawful for our government to make any kind of financial deals with them, period.”

Background

Read H.R. 5711 HERE – “To prohibit the Secretary of the Treasury from authorizing certain transactions by a U.S. financial institution in connection with the export or re-export of a commercial passenger aircraft to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
