Rep. Loudermilk Meets with President Trump to Discuss Funding for Government and Border Security Amid Talk of Government Shutdown

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after he met with President Trump at the White House about funding for the federal government, disaster relief for Georgia, and security at our southern border:

“Today, I met with President Trump and House leadership to discuss the urgency of securing our southern border. The President agrees it is of paramount importance to end the flow of drugs, illegal weapons, human trafficking, and terrorists entering our country. I believe Congress should not leave Washington, D.C. without completing our job, and many of my Republican colleagues in the House agree we should stay in town and continue to fight for the American people.

“In addition to discussing problems at our southern border, I also advocated for disaster relief for Georgia and the other states affected by Hurricane Michael and other natural disasters this year.”
