U.S. Congressman Barry Loudermilk

This week, marked the 17th anniversary of the deadly 9/11 terrorist attacks which killed close to three thousand Americans and wounded over six thousand more. And, while 9/11 doesn’t seem all that long ago, we must never forget the lessons we learned and the impact this attack had on our country.

Throughout our nation’s history – when we have experienced difficult times – we have come together to help one another, regardless of background or political affiliation. It’s this very sentiment which has allowed us to become the leaders of the free world, and a beacon of hope to people across the globe.

The video above, is the 9/11 Memorial Service in Cartersville Georgia. Veterans, first responders, and citizens walked 6.5 miles to honor those lost on September 11, 2001.

Video of the Week: Atlanta Mayor More Concerned with Making a Political Statement than Safety and Security of Georgians
Rep. Loudermilk (R-GA) appeared on “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business Network to discuss the Atlanta Mayor’s decision to end the city’s contract with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement); the city will no longer accept or house illegals arrested by ICE.

What is behind Atlanta’s Mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, decision to end the city’s contract with ICE?

“Nancy Pelosi is a trendsetter for Democrats across the nation; and when the Democrats decided we need to remove ICE as an official entity of the government, all the far left liberals throughout the nation – including a red state like Georgia – are falling in line. Because to them it’s more important to make a political statement than it is to ensure the safety and security of Americans.”

Press Release of the Week: U.S. House Sends Three Major Appropriations Bills to President's Desk
Rep. Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after the House passed a package of three appropriations bills for FY 2019:

“The package of three appropriations bills passed this week marks the first time Congress has completed more than one spending bill on time in over a decade. This package, which President Trump is expected to sign into law, includes the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, Legislative Branch, and Energy and Water Appropriations bills. For too long, Congress has kicked the can down the road and let politics and petty differences interfere with its own appropriations process. And, though we still have work to do, my colleagues and I look forward to passing the remaining appropriations bills on-time, this month.
