Abortion

The U.S. Constitution is very clear when it guarantees the protection of life, and we have a responsibility to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

I deeply value the sanctity of human life from conception. From my perspective, the federal government should work to overcome the factors that lead to abortions and should support well-crafted legislative proposals that directly address these elements. It is my opinion that tax dollars should not go to funding abortions of any kind.

I will continue to champion compassionate alternatives to abortion, such as helping women in crisis through maternity group homes, encouraging adoption, promoting abstinence education, and passing laws requiring parental notification and waiting periods for minors.

Protecting Women and Girls in Sports

Early in the 119th Congress, I joined my House colleagues to pass H.R. 28, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. This bill strengthens Title IX protections by prohibiting schools and institutions that receive federal funding from allowing biological men to compete in athletic programs that are designated for women and girls.

I believe that biological men do not belong in women’s sports, and I am committed to protecting the dignity of female sports and ensuring the rights guaranteed by Title IX are not violated.

Standing Against Antisemitism

Since Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, pro-Palestine protests on college campuses have been on the rise. Unfortunately, some of these protests have become extreme, resulting in violence and anti-Semitic threats that have made many students feel unsafe.

During the 118th Congress, in November, 2023, I voted in favor of H. Res. 798, a resolution condemning the support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations at institutions of higher education.

While I strongly oppose any efforts to limit free speech, I supported this resolution because I fully condemn all hate speech, and I wholeheartedly disagree with any speech or actions that display hatred toward people of any ethnicity or religion.

Anti-Semitism has no place anywhere, especially on our college campuses; and every student should be able to pursue their education in a safe, non-hostile environment.

Combatting Wokeism in our Military

During the Biden Administration, radical progressive or “woke” policies were implemented across the federal government and at the Pentagon. The implementation of these woke policies jeopardizes military readiness and undermines the military’s purpose, character and traditions.

It is concerning that federal funds that should be allocated to military readiness are being wasted on these type of programs instead of making the military more ready and capable.

My Republican colleagues and I are committed to fighting back against the radical ideology that is being forced on our service men and women.

On December 11, 2024, the House passed the final negotiated language for H.R. 5009, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY25, which contains provisions to restore the focus of our military on lethality. The legislation was signed into law on December 23, 2024.

The 2025 NDAA bans teaching and funding of Critical Race Theory in the military, extends the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) hiring freeze, ends diversity and Inclusion program overreach, and permanently bans DOD from providing minor gender dysphoria medical treatments like hormones and puberty blockers that could result in sterilization.

By doing away with these programs, the military will be able to allocate resources and funding appropriately towards readiness, security, and support for our servicemembers.
