Press Release of the Week: Rep. Loudermilk Recognized by Builders Association

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after receiving the Champion of the Merit Shop award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for his support of America’s builders during the 115th Congress:

“Working in the construction industry during my young life gave me a special appreciation for those who work daily to build America. I’ve learned through my experience on the job site and in government service that the solution to our infrastructure issues are best resolved, not by big government, but by embracing free market principles through open and fair competition, which is why we should be thankful for organizations like the Associated Builders and Contractors, who advocate for this daily. Georgia has long been one of the top states in which to do business; and it is imperative that we continue to adopt policies in Congress which allow our commercial and industrial construction industries in this nation the opportunity to thrive.”

The F-35A’s center wing assemblies are manufactured at the Marietta plant, and Lockheed has delivered more than 400 of the assemblies to date, according to the company. Another assembly line at the Marietta plant applies stealth coatings to the F-35’s horizontal and vertical tails."
