Press Release of the Week: Rep. Loudermilk Thanks U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Georgia DOT for Help in Securing Funds for Akers Mill Ramp

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement after attending the U.S. Department of Transportation ceremony in which Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao, announced the proposed grant selections and how they will help connect America:

“I want to thank Secretary Chao for the invitation to attend the INFRA grant awards, and for her efforts in helping Cobb County secure a grant for the Akers Mill Ramp. Also vitally important to this effort was Georgia DOT Commissioner, Russell McMurry, who elevated Akers Mill to a top infrastructure project in Georgia. Without his advocacy, this grant would not have been awarded. This vital addition to the Cobb managed lanes project will provide safer, more streamlined access for commuters traveling on Interstate 75 in Cobb County.”

From Our Constituent Services' Desk…
The National Archives was established in 1935 and is the official depository of records for military personnel in the U.S. Air Force (before 9/30/2004), Army (before 9/30/2006), Navy (before 12/31/2004), Marines (before 2/31/1998) and Coast Guard (before 9/30/2006)1. More recent records are held by each branch of service. Depending on dates of service, the records could be held in the National Archives Building in Washington D.C. or the more well-known National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This information can be very useful to Veterans, especially in supporting claims for benefits or services.
