Finishing What We Started

It was a cold, rainy morning yesterday at Simpson Field, where Republican lawmakers gathered for the first time since the shooting at this same field last June, to practice for their annual Congressional Baseball game for local charities. The practice was short, and at its conclusion, a podium was set up along the third base line where a statement was read from Republican Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who couldn’t attend because he was recovering from another medical procedure due to the injuries he sustained during the shooting. Other lawmakers also made statements and took questions from reporters gathered on the field.

In the News: Bill Would Create Federal Customer Service Standards |
|
|
From Nextgov: "A pair of lawmakers want federal agencies to provide more consistent—and better—customer service for the millions of people who interact with them on a daily basis.
In an effort to improve the government’s dismal customer experience, Reps. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga. and Gerry Connolly, D-Va., introduced legislation that would create customer service standards federal agencies would need to meet.
The Government Customer Service Accountability and Improvement Act follows other customer-focused legislative efforts from Congress, including the Customer Experience Act, which awaits a House vote, and the Connected Government Act, which passed last year."
