  Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga) issued the following statement after Governor Brian Kemp, Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) Commissioner Kathleen Toomey, MD, and state officials confirmed Georgia’s first cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The two Fulton County residents with the virus live in the same household and are currently isolated at home with mild symptoms. One of them had recently traveled from Italy.

"The House easily passed an $8.3 billion supplemental spending bill Wednesday to battle the coronavirus outbreak that threatens a major shock to the economy and disruptions to everyday life in the U.S.

The legislation passed 415-2, with Republican Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona and Ken Buck of Colorado the only ones to vote "nay." The bill came together in little more than a week, a rarity in a deeply polarized Washington, and more than triples the $2.5 billion plan unveiled by President Trump just last week."

  From Governor Brian Kemp's office:

"Governor Brian P. Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr are warning Georgia residents to watch out for scams related to the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). These include websites selling bogus products, as well as fake emails, texts, and social media posts designed to steal people’s money and personal information.

These scam emails and posts may promote awareness and offer prevention tips and fake information about cases in your area. They also might ask for donations to help victims of the virus, offer advice on unproven treatments, or contain malicious email attachments."
