Rep. Loudermilk: Our Military Fight to Defend Our Freedoms, But the Biden Administration Is Not Defending Theirs

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement as the Biden Administration continues to push vaccine mandates on Americans:

“I strongly oppose the Biden Administration’s decision to mandate the vaccine for government workers and our military. Our government forcing a medical procedure on American citizens violates the individual freedom and liberty on which our nation was founded. President Biden and Washington Democrats are leading our nation down a dangerous path that strips Americans of their rights and may ultimately drive some our best and brightest out of government or military service.

“The politicization of the vaccine is one reason many Americans are hesitant to take the vaccine – and you don’t have to look any further than President Biden’s and Vice President Kamala Harris’ rhetoric during their presidential campaigns. They said Americans should not have confidence in the vaccine because it was developed by order of the Trump Administration; yet they are now mandating this same vaccine for government workers and the military. Our service men and women fight to defend our freedoms; but the Biden Administration is not defending theirs.

“Additionally, the FDA has only recently fully approved one of the vaccines; the others are still only approved through the special ‘Emergency Use Authorization’ (EUA), which requires consultation with a physician before administering the vaccine. I encourage my constituents to consult with their doctors on the vaccine, not to rely on the advice of politicians. The conversations between a doctor and patient are confidential; and, at the end of the day, every American has the right to privately make their choice on what’s best for them.”
