President Biden Wants Social Media to Censor Free Speech; Rep. Loudermilk, Republicans Demand Answers

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga) issued the following statement after he and his Republican colleagues wrote a letter to President Biden demanding answers about his administration’s involvement with social media companies to censor free speech:

“A great many Americans claim social media is the predominant source of their news. It doesn’t matter if you are Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or apolitical, you should be alarmed that the Biden Administration admitted they are working with social media companies to censor our free speech, thus undermining the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

“Unfortunately, conservatives are all too familiar with this type of treatment from the media, social media, and the federal government. From the discrimination against conservative groups by the Obama-Biden IRS, to discussing the Russia hoax, the Wuhan lab leak, or Hunter Biden’s laptop, conservatives have been targeted.

“Even though these social media companies have targeted me and many of my colleagues, I can assure you, we will not be silenced. We will demand answers and use every medium available to let the American people know we are going to defend the rights of all Americans, as protected by our U.S. Constitution.”
